SINGAPORE, October 17, 2006: The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been voted the top hotel in Asia by Condé Nast Traveler readers in the magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice Awards, in recognition of the hotel’s accommodation and service quality. The hotel was honoured at the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Awards Annual Gala Dinner in New York City last night, where the results of this largest-ever independent poll of travellers were announced. “This is the strongest endorsement of our hotel yet and we are exhilarated by this excellent news. As a young and independent property, to be recognized internationally by discerning travellers is truly an accomplishment that we can be proud of. The award is the result of the dedication and committed efforts of our staff who have put in their best to take this hotel to the highest level.” said Mr Louis Sailer, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. The 19th Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards received 21,000 responses to its questionnaire which was delivered randomly to subscribers with the April and May 2006 issues. It is an in-depth survey of consumer preferences in which subscribers evaluated more than 3,000 of the best properties, destinations, airlines, cruise lines, and car rental agencies. The Fullerton Hotel, a landmark luxury property in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District, was transformed from the magnificent Palladian-style Fullerton Building built in 1928. Successfully blending rich heritage with contemporary style, the five-year old hotel offers business and leisure travellers world-class accommodation with personalised service in 400 rooms and suites. The hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, a global brand of independently-owned luxury properties and is also a member of Virtuoso, the invitation-only network of over 6,000 premier travel consultants in 22 countries throughout North and South America, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand.
