SINGAPORE, July 25, 2006: The Fullerton Hotel Singapore has been selected as one of the Top 50 Hotels in Asia by Travel + Leisure in the publication’s 11th World’s Best Awards.
The inclusion in Travel + Leisure’s annual awards is a first for the hotel and the latest in a number of noteworthy awards and accolades it has received since opening in 2001. Transformed from the historic Fullerton Building which was built in 1928, the luxury hotel has successfully combined rich heritage with contemporary style and warm personalised service to present an unsurpassed experience for leisure and business travellers.
Offering luxurious accommodation in 400 rooms including 21 suites, the hotel is dynamically located in the financial and arts districts, by the Singapore River. Its state-of-the-art facilities and many services include a 24-hour Financial Centre with the Bloomberg Professional service, 24-hour Concierge, outdoor infinity pool, spa, fitness centre, award-winning restaurants, stylish bar and wireless broadband Internet service throughout the hotel.
Commented Mr Louis Sailer, General Manager of The Fullerton Hotel, “Being selected as a top hotel by the readers of Travel + Leisure, who are sophisticated travellers, is a tremendous honour for the hotel. As an independent property, I am overjoyed that the hotel is increasingly being recognised - and rewarded – for the efforts of every team member.” As part of the US publication’s readers’ poll where hotels, spas, airlines and other industries are rated by subscribers in an online questionnaire, the accolade is considered by many to be highly prestigious, as questionnaire responses undergo a very stringent screening process before being tabulated. Amongst other means, the process includes eliminating responses from travel-industry professionals so as to ensure non-biased opinions.
Hotels are rated for their rooms, facilities, location, service, restaurants and overall value. The full results can be found online at www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2006/ as well as in the August 2006 issue of Travel + Leisure magazine. |
